P3 State of the Industry Report: A Predictable 2019, A Very Unpredictable 2020 (video)

In this session, the co-leaders of development advisory firm Brailsford & Dunlavey’s higher education practice, Brad Noyes and Jeff Turner will provide an overview of market activity – including the number of deals, average deal size, geographic and public/private breakdowns, and diversification within deal structures among other data points. Brad and Jeff will also have a conversation with campus leaders to dive deeper into the report’s 2019 data and discuss how the market has shifted at schools across the country in 2020 due to COVID-19 and other factors. The discussion will include a qualitative assessment of the current higher ed P3 development context as well as differing institutional circumstances that drive decision making through the lens of varying university representatives. The audience will have the opportunity to hear how schools have managed various challenges within their projects, benefitted from disciplined processes, and view the current and future of higher education P3s.
