RFP out for University of Kentucky energy P3 project

On Sept. 24, 2024, the University of Kentucky released a request for proposals (RFPs) for a utility infrastructure public-private partnership, which is poised to deliver mission-critical energy infrastructure for an efficient, reliable system to support new healthcare spaces. The following article is reprinted (with permission) from P3 Bulletin:

The University of Kentucky (UK) has released request for proposals (RFP) for its “vast” energy P3.

Under the plans, the university is looking to kickstart an “aggressive” overhaul of its central energy system with an “efficient, reliable energy system, which supports campus growth.”

Proposed elements of the project include new heating and cooling systems for campus expansions, as well as enabling projects for a hospital opening.

The university has said it is “not interested” in sole asset monetization energy proposals and is instead seeking a “creative collaboration with a partner to optimize long-term value.”

Brailsford & Dunlavey is advising the university.

Responses are due October 30, 2024. The RFP can be found by clicking here.
