With campuses facing shrinking budgets, growing deferred maintenance, and reliability challenges with a global need to rapidly reduce greenhouse gas emissions, this discussion with campus decision makers will focus on overcoming the scale and capital cost of transitioning to a 21st Century energy system. The technical solutions exist to address all these issues, but the transition will require significant capital – along with an operational paradigm shift. Not all problems are created equal, but the solutions must all work together, including examining the potential role of P3 business models.
